10 Things to Avoid when Microdosing with Psilocybin

If you’re starting your microdosing journey, hopefully you’re aware of the proper steps to take along the way but if not, check out this article I wrote for a step by step guide HERE.

There is also a short list of things I advise you to avoid before starting your microdosing practice.

Avoid alcohol

In my experience, alcohol completely negates the effects and benefits of the medicine and I advise clients on not to exceed more than two drinks per week MAX to get the full benefit of the medicine.

Instead...stay hydrated by drinking at least two liters of water a day.

Avoid being inactive

Get outside, walk around, and exercise daily. Daily movement will help the medicine work it’s magic.

If you’re sedentary for 8-10 hours a day sitting in front of a computer screen, make sure you get up to take frequent breaks and try your best to get outside even if it’s for short durations throughout the day. Instead, aim to get consistent regular exercise at least 3-4 days a week.

Avoid processed foods and an unhealthy diet

Instead...cook as many meals for yourself at home while focusing on making your meals as balanced and well rounded as possible by including lean protein, complex carbs and green vegetables.

Avoid energy vampires AKA people who drain you!

Instead, surround yourself with those that inspire you and lift your spirits.

Avoid ignoring and not managing your stress

Instead...double down on things like meditation, deep belly breathing, positive affirmations and earthing.

Avoid constantly being indoors

Instead...get outside at least once a day for 20 minutes and try a walking meditation to be as present

Avoid chest breathing

Instead...opt for deeper full, more intentional breaths throughout the day to bring your awareness to the present moment.

Avoid mindlessly scrolling on social media

Instead do some reading, writing or painting.

Avoid going into it with expectations

Instead...go into the experience with an open mind and an open heart. You’ll be shocked at what might come of it.

Avoid being introverted; even if it’s in your nature!

There is nothing wrong with being a naturally introverted person- but keep in mind this is a fantastic time to connect with other people outside yourself! Your level of empathy will naturally increase which makes for great opportunities to “go deep” with others.

Instead...connect with lovers, partners, friends, family, therapists and coaches and consider taking the opportunity to connect and let go of past inhibitions and stories you may be clinging to from the past.
