⁣3 Things to Know Before You Start Meditating

If you’re feeling stressed or anxious, you know, that tense feeling in your body and racing thought after thought in your mind, consider meditation. The reality is spending even just a few minutes in meditation can restore your calm and inner peace. It really does wonders for the nervous system!

Anyone can practice meditation. It's simple and inexpensive, and it doesn't require any special equipment.

You can practice meditation wherever you are — whether you're out for a walk, riding the bus, waiting at the doctor's office or even in the middle of a business meeting.

Here are three tips you should know before you start:

  1. Thoughts coming into your head are normal and expected- this doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. ⠀

  2. Find any comfortable seated position to meditate in- it doesn’t need to be with your legs crossed.⠀

  3. Make sure in whatever position you’re sitting in, your body is angled up to at least 45 degrees. You should be comfy but not lying completely down.
